I believe that everyone has strengths, and that people are resilient. This can go a long way in trying to recover from difficult experiences. I work with adults, adolescents, and elementary age children on solving problems and/or identifying what hurts and then to develop the strategies and skills to solve/address those issues. Also, I have experience working with adolescents and their parents, and with adults struggling with substance use issues. I believe that individuals and families often struggle with figuring out how to manage increasingly complex issues in a fast-paced ever-changing world. A big part of my work with elementary age children and adolescents is to work with the parent(s) and sometimes with the whole family to understand and manage the young person’s mental health issues in this context.
Recently, during the Covid 19 pandemic, I have sought out and received training in telehealth therapy. I am now fully trained in this method of treatment.
