Amanda Shuluga-Strogin, MA, LPC

Is life feeling heavy, confusing, or just plain overwhelming right now? Wondering what the heck you’re doing?! If so, you’re not alone and simply exploring the idea of therapy is a meaningful first step. I’m so glad you’re here!

I primarily work with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, emotional regulation, and life transitions. I also work with parents to help build connections and promote understanding within their families. So whether you’re a teen overwhelmed by life’s chaos, a young adult navigating major life decisions, or a parent trying to make sense of your child’s needs, I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate through it!

In our work together, you can expect a collaborative and compassionate space where you feel safe, seen, and supported just as you are. I’ll support you in sitting with and processing your emotions and experiences, because feeling deeply is part of being human. My hope is that therapy becomes a space for both reflection and growth, where you can explore what matters most to you and take meaningful steps toward the changes that feel right for your life. To support this process, I draw from evidence-based approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and even Play Therapy—because yes, counseling can include creativity, laughter, and a little fun along the way.

I’m currently seeing clients at the Mentor location and also offer virtual sessions. I practice under the supervision of Dr. Jen Waugh, LPCC-S.

Outside of sessions, I enjoy reading, walking with my dog, practicing yoga, and playing video games with my partner. I’m also a current doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and teach counseling-related courses.

I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you along your journey!
