Monica Kleeberger, Psy.D
I earned my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and have been practicing as a mental health therapist since 2007. I have provided mental health services to clients worldwide, and have worked in community mental health, a multicultural domestic violence shelter, and private practice settings. I have provided in-home therapy services to children and adolescents who were at risk of being displaced from their homes, worked with victims of violence, individuals struggling to navigate major life transitions, in addition to a variety of other concerns.
I take a creative and individualized approach to treatment. I draw from a variety of different therapeutic modalities in order to help clients grow, and achieve their therapy goals in a way that best fits their own psychological makeup. I also provide a holistic approach to therapy. I believe it’s important to pay attention to all aspects of a person: body, spirit, soul, strengths and weaknesses, values and beliefs when working towards growth and healing. I believe therapy should be a judgment free space, where clients can feel understood, heard, and supported as they process difficult life experiences and explore different parts of themselves. At the core, I am an advocate for what is psychologically healthy, and so I take an active role in highlighting unhealthy patterns and beliefs so clients can work toward growing into a stronger, confident healthier version of themselves.
